SNOWSHOEING
My dad actually still goes out on these puppies. He calls them Bear Paws, and swears they are better than the aluminum or composite business we all use now. Snowshoeing was a lot easier back in Maine. You literally just walk out the door and off into the woods. Here, you have to drive out to the mountains and try not to die in an avalanche. That's why I went to an Avalanche Awareness workshop at REI last night. Snowshoeing is incredible, and I am pretty excited to get out there this season.
CRANBERRY QUINOA BREAKFAST PORRIDGE
I can't stop eating this, and I don't really see why I should. You just cook up some quinoa with vanilla soy milk, cinnamon, cardamom, coconut butter, and cranberries. Then you top it with more soy milk and maybe some sliced almonds or chopped pecans. Delicious. And so good for you!

These are just incredible. Handmade with Lithuanian felted wool and then delivered to your door, straight from Lithuania. If anyone is still looking for a Christmas present for me...these would work.
One of our favorite things to do in the snow as kids was build forts and snow caves. We would even bring giant plastic Coke cups (that we won at Quoggy Jo ski races) filled with water outside with us, so we could carefully spread it around with our mittens like little snow masons, and then wait for the whole thing to freeze solid. This typically took place while we went and changed our mittens. These little camping pods in Switzerland are like that, only just slightly more awesome.
EARL GREY TEA + LAVENDER
I'm drinking at least two cups of this a day, with milk. Sometimes regular milk, sometimes vanilla soy milk. Both so tasty.
One of the great old Christmas movies. Barbara Stanwyck is one of my all time favorites. Barbara Stanwyck in a sweet old Christmas movie from the silver screen era is pretty much my dream flick. Watch it if you get a chance.
I got this for my sweet niece Olivia for her first birthday, and I just love it. It's by a French company, and Woodours literally means "Wood Bear." Papa Bear is strong as an oak, and with this play set, he and Baby Bear are all geared up with soft and crinkly fishing tackle. I'd say this is the best Baby + Daddy toy I've seen. But my family is quite partial to bears, the woods, and fishing. And we're pretty Frenchie.
These should be sufficient goodies to keep you fully entertained and well fed over the weekend. I am off until Monday!

I want to eat yogurt in a snow-yurt. Great post Jessie! :)
